Yesterday T and I walked downtown for the first time ever. We never drive down there, and my bus pass has been expired for a few weeks. Riding my bike with the potty in tow has proven to be quite cumbersome so off we went on foot. The best part about our walk was that Thomsen fell asleep in the stroller somewhere around 27th and Vine. It was 11.30 in the morning (a very odd time for T to nap), but I took advantage of this time and hightailed it to Love libary. There I was able to find my book club book and sit and read it (with no interruption) for 45 minutes! It was fantastic. I was in such a good mood when T stirred; however, my mood changed when we took a trip to one of the bathrooms at Love. Thom refused to sit on his potty longer than a few minutes, and I refused to leave until he peed in it. We were in that godforsaken bathroom for over 30 minutes. Luckily, there’s not too much restroom traffic in Love libary, but Thom did win-out when another woman came in, and I felt like she didn’t deserve to witness a half-naked toddler screaming every other minute when I tried to put him on his potty. So, we left. T eventually peed in his potty sitting outside on one of the grassy spots at UNL. I really need to research the public nudity laws… We rounded out our day trip with lunch with Daddy, a trip to the Star Tran office, and playing at the fountain and jungle gym in the Haymarket. I wish I had my camera at the Haymarket because Thom was in love with being the only kid there. We’re usually there on Saturdays for the Farmers’ Market when the places is overflowing with children. Thom can’t really climb more than one step on the jungle gym, but that doesn’t stop him from trying.
