Today concludes the R.I.P. Challenge. I didn’t go out of my way to pick books I would not have normally read, and I vow to do better next year. I don’t think I’ve read a gothic novel since college… I really enjoyed all four of these books and would like to thank Kate for introducing me to all of them. Thanks, Kate! It’s so nice to have a true bas bleu for a sister!

Thomsen was crawling around the floor like a bear this morning. I believe he was trying to use the slowest mode of transport when I asked him to come by me to get dressed. We started talking about bears and how Mommy wants to go back to bed and hibernate… I asked my little cub if he wanted some honey. He replied, “No! Hummy!” Thomsen love hummus and asks for it several times a day. We always correct him with the correct pronunciation but ‘hummy’ is so darn cute.
Thomsen broke our camera yesterday. I had left it on the desk after I uploaded our latest pictures, and he got to it and dropped it on the cement floor with the lens out. I am sad but not devastated. Errol and I got that camera almost four years ago, and we were planning on getting a new one this Christmas. It is annoying that we will have a hiatus from picture-taking. This is what you would have seen on here if we had a camera:
Terhune Orchards sopping wet.
We left our house, and it was partly cloudy. On the way to the farm, it started to rain. It had rained all night too so the grounds were pretty soaked. There were lots of puddles and mud, and it wasn’t the best conditions for apple-picking or frolicking in the pumpkin patch. Actually, Errol didn’t let Thomsen out of the Ergo, but I still think he had a good time seeing the horse and ponies (although he was sure these were donkeys), goats, sheep, ducks, and chickens. He also enjoyed watching the apples go down the conveyer belt as they were washed. I was thrilled by their store and finally had some fresh greens again for supper tonight. It was a good outing, but it could have been better if the weather would have cooperated. I’ve never lived any place where it rained this much! It’s pouring right now. I am so not used to this, and left the computer five minutes ago to make sure Errol hadn’t left a burner on. What I though was water boiling over, was the sound of the rain coming down so hard on the windows! Cut me a break, I do come from the Great American Desert.
