My little Thomsen is not doing so well. I’m not sure if he’s teething or just misses Errol, but he has had a rough couple of days. After supper tonight he threw up twice. It was weird to have real, stinky vomit on me instead of his milky spit-ups from the early months. I guess it’s just another sign that he’s not a little baby any more. Also, last night was possibly the worst sleeping night in Thom’s 14 months of life. The boy did not want his milk! Thom refusing Mama’s milk is just about unheard of. I am hoping not to jinx it, but I don’t think tonight can be any worse. I honestly have no clue how to calm him down when he won’t drink anything–that’s our thing!
We did have some good moments today. Aunt Sarah was in town and took Chris, Katie, Thomsen, and me out for supper. Earlier in the day, we had a lovely walk on the MOPAC trail. For some reason there were a ton of monarch butterflies today, and Thom really enjoyed watching and pointing at them. Monarch butterflies remind me of Reading Rainbow. I kept expecting LeVar Burton to jump out in front of us singing, “Butterfly in the sky, I can fly twice as high!” Luckily, this did not happen because I’m quite sure that would have frightened poor Thom into another one of today’s crying fits.
24 hours until Errol’s return.
